I have most passions in life and one of them is baking cakes, biscuits and other goodies including bread, plus cooking all sorts of other factors.
I was taught how to do this by my Grandad Ted (who was a master baker) and Grannie Minnie. As a girl, I could continually be located with them baking and cooking and generating notes in my workout books, apparently even when three years old, I could continually be located sitting at the table watching closely to what they were performing whilst slowly shelling peas from the garden (apparently my favourite job at that age, but also according to my mum I ate way more than I put into the bowl)
This passion over the years has resulted in me having dozens and dozens of tatty old workout books, filled with recipes and notes taken at these sessions some even written by my grandparents themselves, which I am sure, you can understand I treasure. I think because of this, I was led to collect old Cook Books. With any spare time I have you can I continually obtain me rummaging about in second hand shops, garage sales, tip shops, op shops, auto boot sales, you know that sort of thing to obtain pretty old treasures in the form of cookbooks, to add to my collection because I like to bake and cook and share with other people vintage recipes, in particular cake and frosting recipes. Not too long ago to my very good delight on one of my "rummaging days" I came across this pretty, pretty old cook book - a long forgotten recipe book on Quick Chocolate Cake Recipes, cookies (biscuits) and substantially way more in the cakes and chocolate line. In fact one chocolate sponge cake reci pe blew me away, I had to test bake it promptly, and the outcomes were some thing so great and so tasty one of my associates wanted me to bake the similar chocolate sponge cake recipe for her anniversary cake! What pleases me most is the fact that these recipes are over 100 years old! Yes the book is over 100 years old! There are so most recipes to bake and attempt it is thrilling!
I guarantee if you saw the chocolate sponge cake recipes inside, you would fall in like with each and every recipe and the book itself- I know I did, it was an unexpected "Treasure Trove" of Chocolate Delights some of the most effective chocolate recipes I have ever observed.I sat up for a couple of nights entranced reading this book cautiously from cover to cover. I was so excited about this book, I even asked my husband, if I should really wear white gloves to protect the pages.
I feel these irresistible recipes in particular the chocolate sponge cake recipes deserve the light of day and deserve to be made with very good joy and presented with very good pride for associates and loved ones to delight in!
My husband (He reckons he is long suffering, still, delights in consuming any thing I cook) mentioned "Look Maggie - how most other folks would like to get there hands on this book and attempt these recipes, even the photographs in the book are delightful, I know folks would like to have this specifics in particular seeing it has so most chocolate sponge cake recipes"I looked at him in amazement - went and made myself a cuppa and had a great think about the book, what he mentioned and other passionate "Cake Bakers" out there who I knew in my heart would like to have this irreplaceable cook book in their collection. To cut a long story short, I decided to take a leap of faith and make an e-Book to share with other passionate cooks out there.I have taken recipes throughout this pretty unique recipe book I located mixed and matched to make one e-Book. (I program to make another two books as there are SO Many recipes to share with you)
Every recipe presented in this very first e-Book is tried and tested and I present the recipes as they were originally written and laid out in the book still with one critical exception - I have purposely inserted brackets with modern day day meanings by words or weights and measures I feel might possibly have gone out of fashion so a better understanding and 100% positive outcome with these recipes will be had by all! Baking simple chocolate cake recipes and chocolate sponge cake recipes and other goodies from a bygone era has in no way been easier. So you are in all probability wondering what I came up with - it is a 23 page book, which has 39 recipes and terrific old photographs from the original book. Can I say way more? Likely, still, if you are interested in baking a delicious Chocolate Sponge Cake with a vintage chocolate sponge cake recipe I invite you to come and read way more on what I have developed at Bake Cakes Now, the URL is in the resource box. When you pay a visit to the website, just scroll down the home page and you will obtain what I am talking about.
